About the Honhaar Scholarship Program

The Honhaar Undergraduate Scholarship Program, launched by the Government of the Punjab, offers merit-based financial assistance to outstanding students enrolled in leading universities and colleges. The program is dedicated to supporting high-achieving individuals from families with limited financial means, enabling them to pursue quality education without financial stress. Covering 100% of tuition fees, this initiative empowers students to focus on academic excellence and contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s future.

Scholarship Coverage and Duration

The Honhaar Undergraduate Scholarship Program 2025 offers complete tuition fee coverage for eligible students studying in recognized universities and colleges across Punjab.

1. Coverage Details

• ·       The scholarship covers 100% of the tuition fee for the selected students.
• ·       Tuition fees will be paid as per the official fee structure of the respective university or college.
• ·       The financial support is provided directly under the supervision of the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC).

2. Duration of Support

·       The scholarship is valid for the entire duration of the undergraduate degree program, which may range from four to five years, depending on the field of study.

3. Expenses Covered

·       Fully covered: Tuition fee only.

·       Not covered: Hostel or accommodation charges, transportation, books, or other living expenses (unless specified otherwise by PHEC in future updates).

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following conditions to be eligible for the Honhaar Undergraduate Scholarship Program 2025:

1. Domicile Requirement

·       The applicant must hold a valid domicile of the Punjab province.

2. Age Limit

·       There is no age limit for applicants. However, preference will be given to students within the typical undergraduate age range.

3. Gender

·       The scholarship is open to all genders.

4. Family Income Criteria

·       The monthly family income must not exceed the following limits:

o   Rs. 350,000/- for students enrolled in Public Sector Universities and Colleges.

o   Rs. 500,000/- for students enrolled in Federal or Private Sector Universities.

·       Applicants must provide an income affidavit on an E-Stamp paper (Download Sample).

5. Academic Eligibility

For eligibility based on academic performance, the minimum marks required in Intermediate or equivalent qualifications are as follows:

·       For public sector universities and colleges, students must have secured at least 70% marks in Science subjects or 65% in Arts and Social Sciences.

·       For MBBS and BDS programs in public sector medical and dental colleges, students must have obtained at least 80% marks in Intermediate.

·       For federal and private universities, the minimum requirement is 70% marks in Science subjects or 65% in Arts and Social Sciences.

·       For Higher Education Department (HED) colleges, students must have at least 65% marks in Science subjects or 60% in Arts and Social Sciences.

6. Merit Determination Formula

The final selection will be based on the following merit calculation:

·       Matriculation Marks: 30% weightage

·       Intermediate Marks: 70% weightage

7. Enrollment Condition

·       The applicant must be currently enrolled in the first semester/year of an undergraduate program in 2025.

·       Students already enrolled in the first year of MBBS or BDS in 2025 are also eligible.

·       Applicants from selected disciplines only will be considered (to be listed in the next section).

8. General Conditions

·       Students availing any other government-funded scholarship are not eligible.

·       The decision of the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) will be final in all cases.
